Hello Everyone, Here is a photo of early Lambton roadbuilding. I am uncertain as to the exact location but I believe it's in either Courtright Line near Oil City or Oil Heritage Road (old 21 Highway). If you look closely behind the horses you can see a railway line so that would likely be a good clue. Any ideas? Thanks, Tom Attachments:

That's a great pic, Tom... You're guesses are good. But, it's pretty hard to tell where this might be for sure. There were several places in the county where roads ran adjacent to rail lines, mostly on the Canada Southern. A few places I can think of off the top of my head are: - on the Oil Springs branch, along Hwy. #21 (Oil Heritage Rd.) at Edys Mills.
- along old Hwy. #80 (Courtright Ln.) just west of Kimball, where the CASO crossed that road on a very slight angle (there's a big 'S' bend there, now under the power lines...).
- on Weidman Ln. running into Inwood from the west.
I'm sure there were other places that this photo could have been taken... Man, talk about labour intensive back then, eh? Scraping the roads with those little graders pulled by horses! Where'd you get the photo, Tom?
