This board is a place to discuss anything about the geography and environment that makes up Lambton County. This can include the physical geography, flora and fauna, weather and how all these things interact and have changed over both geological and historical time spans.
I'll be posting about this area's geological beginnings, it's structure and topography, natural drainage, plants and wildlife, and weather. I'd also like to study how man has altered this environment in the course of settlement and utilization of it's resources.
This will also be a place to post your current and past photos showing your favourite natural places in Lambton and/or wildlife you've encountered...
I'll start off with a few nature photos I've taken over the years, with a description and where they were taken...

I came upon this little red fox in Euphemia Township last winter. He was only about fifty feet away when I first saw him, but soon ran off towards the woods.

This is a beaver dam I discovered on the west side of the Ausable River valley about six years ago. I'll soon have a separate thread about this beaver meadow and beavers in Lambton County...

Again, in the Ausable valley between Arkona and Thedford, I came across this beautiful mother wolf spider emerging from her den with her egg sack firmly attached to her abdomen.

A winter view of one of my favourite natural spots in Lambton County. This is Fuller's Falls. It is located on a small tributary of the Ausable River, about 5 km downstream from Rock Glen. You will definitely see a future thread about the waterfalls of Lambton County.
