I have been studying Sarnia, ON history for more than 30 years. I'm now 'Retired' due to illness.

According the Wenning Prendergast (1949), a Sutherland descendant, this house once belonged to her (?) grandfather, George Sutherland, his son was born in the house on April 29, 1845 and his wife, Janet, died in childbirth. In 1949 the house was owned by the Warwick family and I THINK I read somewhere that it burned down in the late 1950's. Other families to occupy the house were: White, McCormick and Wing. It was surmised that the house was built by the Bertrand family, who purchased the land from the Crown. Attachments:
