Demo Watch is something I've been thinking about for a couple of years now. In just the few years that LLF has existed, I've watched a number of historic Lambton structures disappear forever. Even worse, many I've only learned about long after they were gone, without getting photos, measurements, or anything else. We can't expect to be able to save all these buildings - progress is just as important as preserving the past - but, at the very least, we should be documenting these structures as carefully as possible before they are gone forever. That's where you, the LLF community, can help. If you live near, or learn about, an old structure that's about to be demolished, or it's just so decrepit that it's in danger of collapsing, please let us know. You can do that here on the forum, or you can e-mail Steve at or PM me. If you can, get some photos and post them here, or on the LLF Facebook group. If you let us know in time, we can go out and visit the site before it's too late. Please don't judge any structure as unworthy, or not old enough, to let us know. It doesn't have to be notable. Barns, plain old homes, sheds, etc., they all had value at one time and for historians, there's enduring value in knowing they existed, where they were and what they looked like. Let's not let any Lambton history pass out of existance without saving some record of it for future generations... Thank you!

There is a small brick cottage on the east side of south Brock St. (192??) about to be pulled down. It's just south of the retirement home - the fences went up either Thurs. or Friday, so demolition will most likely commence starting tomorrow at the earliest. There is no reason to pull this beautifully maintained structure down. I have heard that the fine 2 storey brick home immediately to the south of this cottage will also come down in the near future.
