SketchUp (SU) [formerly "Google SketchUp", but now owned by Trimble] is a program that lets you create 3D computer models of just about anything. Once completed, the models can be uploaded to the 3D Warehouse, where anyone can view, or download them. The 3D Warehouse provides a viewer which can be embedded into any website...
Here's a quick guide to viewing and navigating around models:
There are just three main navigational movements when viewing models; Zoom, Pan and Orbit. How to do each is explained below:
Using a wheel mouse, place your cursor anywhere within the viewer window:
Directly below is a small viewer window with a sample model to try out and practice the above directions.

You can also expand the viewer window to full screen by clicking on the double arrow icon in the upper right corner of the window. Return to this page by pressing the "Esc" key.
Finally, you can visit and download the model at the 3D Warehouse by clicking on the "3D Warehouse" logo in the lower right corner.
Once you've got the hang of it, visit any of the models embedded on this site, or at the 3D Warehouse. Here's my first 3D model posted to LLF...

There are just three main navigational movements when viewing models; Zoom, Pan and Orbit. How to do each is explained below:
Using a wheel mouse, place your cursor anywhere within the viewer window:
- Zoom - you can zoom in closer, or away from a model using the wheel on your mouse. Just roll the wheel towards you to zoom out, or roll it away from you to zoom in. Wherever you place your cursor within the viewer window, determines the "focus" of where the zooming occurs.
- Pan - panning allows you to move the model straight left and right, or up and down in the viewer window. To pan, hold your left mouse button down while pressing the shift key at the same time. Then, move your cursor within the viewer window to pan the model to whatever position you want.
- Orbit - orbiting allows you to move "around" the model, or to appear to "rotate" it. To orbit, hold down your left mouse button and move the cursor. The model will appear to rotate or swing. Orbiting occurs around the center of the viewer window, so if the model is panned off-center, it will appear to 'swing' rather than 'rotate'. Simply pan whatever part of the model you want to orbit around to the middle of the screen and then press and hold the mouse button to orbit around that part.
