I remember passing this building many times, but no longer remember where it was located. I can't recall what it was used for, but I believe it came down sometime in the 1980's. Attachments:

My wife, raised in Courtright, called it "the old salt factory" and says it stood between Highway 80 and Lambton Generating Station.

Yes, it was the Courtright Salt Co. It was only a couple of hundred feet south of Hwy. 80 (Courtright Ln.). You can still see the base of that smoke stack on the property, if the vegetation is low and you know where to look... I remember driving by there with my parents as a kid and it always fascinated me. It's shown on the Courtright FIPs of 1896 and 1906, in the block "7" inset, but the structure shown predates that shown in John's photo... Here's a link to Lambton FIPs.

To my knowledge definetly a salt factory and once one Charles Bedard worked their and was later taken into the Sifto Salt works in Sarnia.The BEDard family also owned the Courtright hotel.That being Charles Bedards parents I believe.This I have a source to verify
